Life Christian Center of Salinas is currently in our New Year’s SPF-21: 21 Days of Sabbath, Prayer, Fasting. Through the majority of January, please read and think on the Scriptures included in each daily devotion. Rather than a twice-per-week teaching or inspirational devotion, we aim to unite in daily prayer over a single subject. Please consider taking a few minutes (or more) to pray for each day’s specific topic contained in these devotions. For any who do not attend Life Christian Center, please join with us and personalize the prayer topic of the day for you, your family, your church, or your community. We will resume our twice-per-week discipleship devotions at the conclusion of SPF-21. (For more info on the 1/9-14 AWE Prayers, please check out “Awaken Wonder & Expectancy” podcasts)
Day 20: PRAY for healing and freedom for those with physical/mental torment or illness
Isaiah 53:3-4a, 5 NLT - He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. 4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down… 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
James 5:14-16 NIV - Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
