Time to Go

Mark 16:15-17 NIV - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues…

God calls us out of the world, into the Church.  He then empowers us to serve one another and to serve together as we go back into the world to be disciple-making witnesses of Christ. How consistently do you have a Great Commission mindset?  How would a “missionary mindset” cause you reevaluate your view of your workplace, school, neighborhood, extended family, and regular encounters with people during the day?  With whom do you regularly come into contact that is open to hear your story God has given you to tell?  Pray for names that come to mind.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 NLT - Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ. 20 When I was with the Jews, I lived like a Jew to bring the Jews to Christ. When I was with those who follow the Jewish law, I too lived under that law. Even though I am not subject to the law, I did this so I could bring to Christ those who are under the law. 21 When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ. 22 When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. 23 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

Is your job your identity or your mission field?  Are you willing to stretch yourself to find more common ground with others to build relationships with those who are in need of the Good News?  Are you willing to sacrifice some expressions of your personal freedoms and preferences in order to see souls saved and to make new disciples?  To whom do you need to go?
