Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Is profanity (cussing) appropriate for Christ’s followers? Do I use profanity, and if so - would I be willing to stop it for the next 30 days to see how it impacts myself and others?
Is my mouth more often an instrument used “to wound” or “to heal” those closest to me? Why? Am I mostly cutting and sarcastic or mostly kind and complimentary? Do I often rage or use a soft tone?
“If I could change one main thing about how I speak, it would be … ” What intentional habit can I work to develop over 90 days in order to change that one thing? Example: Give 3 sincere compliments and words of non-critical encouragement to everyone in your home (or work space if single). Practice doing this every day for 90 days. Put reminders on your phone or computer if necessary!
