Baptism in the Gospels

Mark 16:15-16 NET
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

John 4:1-2 NET
1 Now when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that he was winning and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but his disciples were),

Matthew 28:19-20 NET
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

According to Jesus Himself, all those who believe in Him will be baptized. Plus, His followers are commanded to baptize new followers who devote their lives to Christ. If you’ve chosen to be baptized into Christ, what do you remember about the experience?

What led to that decision and what was it like once you were baptized?

Can infants believe the Gospel in order to be baptized?

If you haven’t been baptized yet, what would be the main thing that has kept you from doing it? How might God help you address the issue?

Finally, have you ever realized that Jesus had already been having His Apostles baptize new disciples in His name years before the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20? So was baptizing new disciples anything new to them? (Isn’t what they do in the Book of Acts just continuing what they already were doing back in John 4?
