DAY TWENTY-ONE

PRAYING THE LORD’S PRAYER

Luke 11:1 NIV - One day Jesus was praying in a certain place.  When He finished, one of his disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray…”

Matthew 6:9-13 NIV - “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

“Our Father in heaven…”

CONNECT WITH GOD RELATIONALLY

Romans 8:15 NLT - So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

God loves for we Christians to call Him our Father.  Approach God relationally - like the intimacy of a child with a loving parent, and thank Him for the relationship you get to have with Him.

“Hallowed be Your Name…”

WORSHIP GOD’S NAME

Proverbs 18:10 MSG - God’s name is a place of protection— good people can run there and be safe.

What are some of the names God reveals about His identity in Scripture?

  • The LORD, my Righteousness:  God makes me clean
  • The LORD, my Sanctifier:  God has called me and set me apart
  • The LORD, my Healer:  God can heal me spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, physically
  • The LORD, my Banner of victory:  God has defeated the enemy of my soul
  • The LORD, my Shepherd:  God leads me, guides me, speaks to me, feeds me, corrects me
  • The LORD, my Peace:  God is peace in every storm or trial I face
  • The LORD, my Provider:  God determines and supplies my needs

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…”

PRAY GOD’S AGENDA FIRST

Luke 12:30-31 NCV - All the people in the world are trying to get these things, and your Father knows you need them. 31 But seek God’s kingdom, and all your other needs will be met as well.

Some of God’s chief priorities in Scripture:

  • Love, faith, hope, and unity in and among all in His Church
  • Saving the lost
  • Guidance for those in authority in the home, the church, the workplace, the nations
  • His will revealed to, and accomplished in, us (giving the understanding, desire, ability to do it)

“Give us this day our daily bread…”

DEPEND ON GOD FOR EVERYTHING

Psalm 121:2 NLT - My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!

Ask God for what you want and need (humbly, not with entitlement).  Trust Him for the answer, in which He will provide it according to His will and timing.

“Forgive us our debts [trespasses, sins] as we forgive our debtors [those who wronged us]…”

GET YOUR HEART RIGHT WITH GOD AND PEOPLE

1 John 1:9 NIV -  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 12:18-19 NIV - If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Matthew 6:14-15 NIV - For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Ask God to check your heart and motives.  Ask Him to use His word to reveal areas where you need to change.  Receive His forgiveness for any area that God brings to mind.

Forgive anyone who has offended you in any way.  You can even forgive people in advance or those who you may never be able to see again.  Ask God for the grace to forgive those who are not sorry so that you are free from the torment and poison of grudges and bitterness that can kill your spiritual life.

2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT - For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one…”

ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Ephesians 6:12-13 NLT - For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 NLT - If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Take your stand against the enemy of your should and fight the good fight of faith. (See Ephesians 6:14-18). Replace the lies told to you with the truth of the word of God.

“For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever…”

EXPRESS FAITH IN GOD’S ABILITY

Jeremiah 32:17 NCV - Oh, Lord God, you made the skies and the earth with your very great power. There is nothing too hard for you to do.

End your prayer time by reminding yourself of God’s ability.  Return to declarations of faith and praise to your Father and King.

“All rulership in my life belongs to You, O God my King.”
“All power I need flows from You, O God my Creator.”
“All victory that I will ever enjoy is complete in You, O God, my Savior”

DAY TWENTY

Confession (personalize or utilize  example provided as a pattern)

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins
through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all
goodness, and by the power of Your Holy Spirit keep us in
eternal life.  Amen.
(modified from the order of The Book of Common Prayer provided by The Mission of St. Clare)

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:28 NET - A lying witness will perish, but the one who reports accurately speaks forever.

Pray for God to reveal any dishonesty, malice, gossip, or slander that you have allowed in your life and ask for grace to demonstrate only honesty and integrity in all your communication to and about others.

Ephesians 4:25, 29-32 NET - Therefore, having laid aside falsehood, each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another… 29 You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 You must put away all bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and slanderous talk—indeed all malice. 32 Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Present your day to God:  Psalm 37:5
Present the day’s details to God, choose the fear of the LORD, commit your works to God:  Psalm 37:4-5; Deuteronomy 33:25; Proverbs 16:3

Supplication (making requests of God)

Pray for healing or deliverance for those with physical/mental torment or illness

Isaiah 53:3-4a, 5 NLT - He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. 4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down… 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

James 5:14-16 NIV - Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Confession (personalize or utilize  example provided as a pattern)

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.
Clare)

Present your heart to God:  Proverbs 4:23
Ask God to search your heart for sin (then receive forgiveness and cleansing), for selfishness (then receive holiness/desire to serve), for stress (then receive peace and power), for sickness (then receive healing and strength):  Psalm 139:23-24
Remember the danger of self-deception, and pray for truth: Jeremiah 17:9-10; 1 John 1:6-10

Ask God to help keep His purposes and goals in view:  Psalm 90:12; Philippians 3:13-14

1 John 1:8-9 NET -  If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:25-26 NET - What the sluggard desires will kill him, for his hands refuse to work.  26  All day long he craves greedily, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.

Pray for God to fill you with consistent desire and diligence in terms of your work ethic while revealing any laziness for which you need to repent.  Pray for God to reveal and kill greed in you while cultivating a generous mindset that gives.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-13 NET - For even when we were with you, we used to give you this command: “If anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat.” 11 For we hear that some among you are living an undisciplined life, not doing their own work but meddling in the work of others. 12 Now such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and so provide their own food to eat. 13 But you, brothers and sisters, do not grow weary in doing what is right.

Present your day to God:  Psalm 37:5
Present the day’s details to God, choose the fear of the LORD, commit your works to God:  Psalm 37:4-5; Deuteronomy 33:25; Proverbs 16:3

Matthew 6:13 ESV - And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

1 Peter 5:8-9a NIV - Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith…

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NET - For though we live as human beings, we do not wage war according to human standards, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments 5 and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins
through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all
goodness, and by the power of Your Holy Spirit keep us in
eternal life.  Amen.

Proverbs 21:20-21 NET - There is desirable treasure and olive oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person devours all he has. 21 The one who pursues righteousness and love finds life, bounty, and honor.

Pray for God’s wisdom in how to manage your time, talents, and treasures.  Pray for deliverance from having a consumerism mindset - regarding not just possessions and money but also relationships.  Pray for a heart that is in continual pursuit of what is right in the sight of God while confessing the expectation to receive life, abundance, and honor from Him.

Matthew 6:31-33 NET - So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32 For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Present your day to God:  Psalm 37:5
Present the day’s details to God, choose the fear of the LORD, commit your works to God:  Psalm 37:4-5; Deuteronomy 33:25; Proverbs 16:3
Confess your dependence on God:  Proverbs 3:5-7; Psalm 131:1-3
Request specific direction for your actions and decisions:  Psalm 25:4-5; Isaiah 30:21
Choose to obey God’s explicit instructions in Scripture by choosing to do His will:  Matthew 6:11; Matthew 7:7-8

Supplication (making requests of God)

Pray for the love-fueled gifts of the Spirit to operate properly to build up the church.  Pray that God would use your gifts to honor Him, evangelize the lost, and strengthen your fellow Christians.  Pray to make an eternal difference!

1 Corinthians 14:1, 12, 40 NIV - Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy…12 So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church…40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

1 Corinthians 14:14-15 NKJV - For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

Sing to God:  Psalm 96:1-2; Colossians 3:16
Ask for the Spirit of God to assist your praise:  Jude 20

Hebrews 13:15-16 NKJV - Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Confession (personalize or utilize  example provided as a pattern)

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:18-19 NET - The wicked become a ransom for the righteous, and the faithless are taken in the place of the upright. 19  It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and easily-provoked woman.

Pray for your faith (trust in Jesus Christ) not to fail and for God to encourage your spirit toward living in continual faithfulness as a disciple of Jesus.  Pray for God to reveal any areas in which you may need to repent of being quarrelsome and quick-tempered then ask Him to show you how to live peaceably and patiently instead.

Proverbs 28:20a ESV - A faithful man will abound with blessings...

James 4:1-3 NET - Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you? 2 You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask; 3 you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:16-17 NET - The one who wanders from the way of wisdom will end up in the company of the departed. 17 The one who loves pleasure will be a poor person; whoever loves wine and anointing oil will not be rich.

Pray for God to keep you and others in the faith from wandering from Biblical wisdom and truth or drifting from the way of Christ.  Pray to have the right desires as well as the grace to deny yourself to follow Christ.

Hebrews 2:1-4 NET - Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty, 3 how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him, 4 while God confirmed their witness with signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

James 5:19-20 NET - My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Galatians 5:22-23 ESV - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.

John 15:8 NLT - When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:14-15 NET - A gift given in secret subdues anger, and a bribe given secretly subdues strong wrath. 15 Doing justice brings joy to the righteous and terror to those who do evil.

Pray for God to make you an effective peacemaker - one who gives gentle answers rather than stirring up conflict and one who blesses the angry in order to promote peace, yet only in a way that does justly and never unjustly or dishonorably.

Matthew 5:9 NET - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

Micah 6:8 ESV - He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Romans 12:19-21 ESV - Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it[i] to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:13 NET - The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and will not be answered.

Pray for God to let your heart be stirred or broken for the plight of those who are genuinely poor - those without sufficient food, without sufficient clothing, without shelter, without access to clean drinking water, without access to decent medical care, or without freedom (due to persecution or repression).  Pray for God to prompt you to know the best ways for you to truly help the truly poor - locally, nationally, and globally.  Pray for God to bring relief to the genuinely poor.

Supplication (making requests of God)

Pray for godly wisdom, accurate discernment, and a Biblically-Renewed mind, conscience, and worldview

2 Corinthians 3:5 NIV - We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

James 1:5 ESV - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

James 3:13-17 NET - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16 For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.

Confession (personalize or utilize  example provided as a pattern)

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.

Set a guard on your mouth and heart:  Psalm 19:14;  Psalm 49:3
Ask God to help keep His purposes and goals in view:  Psalm 90:12; Philippians 3:13-14

1 John 1:8-9 NET -  If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:11-12 NET - When a scorner is punished, the naive becomes wise; when a wise person is instructed, he gains knowledge. 12 The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked; he overthrows the wicked to their ruin.

Pray for God to always protect and deliver you from being a scorner, scoffer, mocker, fool, or slanderer.  Pray for God to always refresh in your mind a “teachable spirit” and for Him to teach you to avoid evil by observing His discipline upon others.  Pray for God to deliver you from wickedness, especially that which would infect your family.

Psalm 1:1-6 NET - How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!  2 Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the Lord’s commands; he meditates on his commands day and night.  3 He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off.  He succeeds in everything he attempts.  4 Not so with the wicked!  Instead they are like wind-driven chaff.  5 For this reason the wicked cannot withstand judgment, nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. 6 Certainly the Lord guards the way of the godly, but the way of the wicked ends in destruction.

Present your day to God:  Psalm 37:5
Present the day’s details to God, choose the fear of the LORD, commit your works to God:  Psalm 37:4-5; Deuteronomy 33:25; Proverbs 16:3

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:7-10 NET - The violence done by the wicked will drag them away because they refuse to do what is right. 8 The way of the guilty person is devious, but as for the pure, his way is upright. 9 It is better to live on a corner of the housetop than in a house in company with a quarrelsome wife. 10 The appetite of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor is shown no favor in his eyes.

Pray for God to fight against the perpetrators of unjust violence as well as for protection from such violence.  Pray for purity of heart, speech, and behavior.  Pray for harmony at home.  Pray for holy desires and for the opportunity to show grace and favor to your neighbors.

Psalm 51:10-15 NET - Create for me a pure heart, O God!  Renew a resolute spirit within me!  11 Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me!  12 Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance!  Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey!  13 Then I will teach rebels your merciful ways, and sinners will turn to you.  14 Rescue me from the guilt of murder, O God, the God who delivers me!  Then my tongue will shout for joy because of your deliverance.  15 O Lord, give me the words!  Then my mouth will praise you.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:5-6 NET - The plans of the diligent lead only to plenty, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. 6 Making a fortune by a lying tongue is like a vapor driven back and forth; they seek death.

Pray for diligence and a Christ-honoring work ethic in all your labors (career, school, home, etc.).  Pray for wisdom in how to earn sufficient financial income as God prospers you while also asking for the wisdom, courage, and self-discipline to handle your money properly.  Pray for God to bless your honesty in hard work and money management while also protecting you from people and ways that are dishonorable or dishonest.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 NET - Command those who are rich in this world’s goods not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others. 19 In this way they will save up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the future and so lay hold of what is truly life.

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:4  NET -  Haughty eyes and a proud heart—the agricultural product of the wicked is sin.

Pray for forgiveness for any pride, arrogance, insecurity, and selfishness.  Pray for consistent humility before God so that He will give you greater grace and not resist you for pride - the most subtle and dangerous sin root.  Pray for God to reveal areas in which He desires you to obey Him by practicing Biblical submission.

1 Peter 5:5-8  NET -  In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. 6 And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand 7 by casting all your cares on him because he cares for you. 8 Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.

SPF - DAY TWO

Adoration (worship, thanksgiving, praise to God in speech and song)

1 Corinthians 14:14-15 NKJV - For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

Present yourself to God:  Mark 12:30
Think of a fresh reason today to thank Him:  Psalm 100:4
Present your body in worship:  Romans 12:1; Psalm 63:3-4; Psalm 47:1; Psalm 150
Sing to God:  Psalm 96:1-2; Colossians 3:16
Ask for the Spirit of God to assist your praise:  Jude 20

Hebrews 13:15-16 NKJV - Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Confession (personalize or utilize  example provided as a pattern)

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.

Proverbs 21:2-3 NET - All of a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion, but the Lord evaluates the motives. 3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Pray for God’s Spirit to reveal your motives while asking for what His right way to overwhelm your personal opinions.  Pray for God to motivate and empower you to consistently desire to do what is right and fair to honor Him and bless others.

Supplication (making requests of God)

AWE Prayer: For the personal practice and healthy Church culture of Authentic Worship Experiences (consistent individual and church encounters with God in true worship in the Spirit)

Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV - Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”

Truth (praying the Scriptures)

Proverbs 21:1 NET - The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord like channels of water;
he turns it wherever he wants.

Pray for God’s Spirit to move upon the hearts of political leaders and authority figures in government so as to better please God and so the Church can succeed and serve in peace.

PRESIDENT:
NATIONAL LEADERS:
STATE LEADERS:
JUSTICES AND JUDGES:
CITY LEADERS:

1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV - I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Supplication (making requests of God)

Pray and pledge for ongoing unity in the Church, especially in the areas of unswerving dedication to truth and mission, a purer faith, contagious hope, Christian love.

Psalm 133 NIV - How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! 2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
